However, if it were not possible to release some of the air, the parachute would remain inflated and difficult to control. The hole allows some of the air to escape, allowing the parachute to remain stable and maneuverable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The size and shape of the vent hole may vary depending on the design of the parachute and the desired descent rate.
